Kurt Schrumpf, C.D.T.

In addition to graduating from Upper Arlington High School and attending The Ohio State University with a major in Psychology, Kurt is a 1986 graduate from Columbus State Community College with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Dental Laboratory Technology. Over the past 15 years he has taken many courses on advanced dentistry, studying under Dr. Pete Dawson, Dr. Frank Spear, Dr. Gordon Christenson and many other great dentists. Kurt is a Certified Dental Technician and currently holds National Board certification for complete dentures.

Kurt has been associated with Dr. Hooper’s office since 1993 and has a passion for patient care, cosmetically-enhanced smile design, and implants. His greatest pleasure comes from restoring and enhancing a patient’s smile. Kurt is excited to see and use the new advances in dentistry in our office, from digital x-ray to the CEREC CAD-CAM system.

Kelly Carr, E.F.D.A.

Kelly received her Dental Assistant diploma from The Akron Institute of Medical-Dental Assistants in January of 1988. That same year she became a member of the American Dental Assistants Association and remains a member to this date. Since then, she has also fulfilled requirements and received her diploma to be a Certified Ohio Dental Assistant in 1992. Additionally, she earned her Expanded Functions degree in June 2001 with honors from The Ohio State University.

Kelly has been Dr. Hooper’s clinical assistant since August of 1997 and looks forward to sharing her passion for dentistry with you.

Deborah Tschannen, R.D.H.

The newest member of our team, Deborah graduated in 1974 from Shawnee State University. Her career has taken her to Texas, Switzerland and back again to Ohio. Deborah has always pursued the path of offering each patient optimal periodontal care and education throughout her career. She has been happily married to the man of her dreams for 23 years. Deborah and her husband Heinz have two children, Naomi and Jesse. Deborah looks forward to serving each and every very valued patient of Dr. Hooper's practice.

Kariena Turner, R.D.H.

Kariena is a 2000 graduate of Mt. Hood Community College, located in Gresham, Oregon and joined Dr. Hooper’s team in September 2009. Prior to her dental hygiene career, Kariena was trained as a dental assistant. Originally from Utah, Kariena has lived in California, Arizona, Oregon and Hawaii, and her family relocated to Columbus three years ago. Until recently she was a small business owner, but her passion for dental hygiene and periodontal care was decidedly her path. Kariena has been married for 16 years, has a beautiful 4 year old daughter Afton, and two dogs, Simon and Max. She looks forward to working together toward optimal dental health for you and your family.

Nancy Madden

Nancy is one of the people you will meet at the front desk. She has 16 years experience in the dental field and she’s eager and able to help you.

She earned a Bachelor’s degree from Marietta College and has specific training and experience to qualify her to be the financial coordinator in Dr. Hooper’s office. She is also a member of the National Dental Office Manager’s Association and has been the president of the local chapter for two years.

She lives in Dublin with her husband and enjoys having her children living in the Columbus area. Nancy is looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of Dr. Hooper’s patients.

Maureen Pakler

Maureen has been in the dental industry for 13 years and joined Dr. Hooper’s team in March 2009. As Patient Coordinator, Maureen is always happy to schedule your hygiene appointments or assist you when you call the office.
